How do I access my server's GamePanel?
From the client area, open your server and click Access GamePanel. Starting, console, files, mods and backups are all managed there.
Log in at panel.helloserv.fr, then open your game server.
Click Client areaMy Servicesyour serverAccess GamePanel.
Log in with your GamePanel password (see the next question).
What is my GamePanel password?
It was sent to you by email with your first order (check your spam folder). It's different from your HelloServ client area password and stays the same until you change it.
Look for the GamePanel access email you received with your first order.
Lost or forgotten: Client areaSettingsGame Panel AccessGamePanel Password.
Enter a new GamePanel password and confirm: it's also used for SFTP.
How do I get a simple address (subdomain)?
Client area, service page, Server IP tab: pick a name and create it. For Minecraft Java the address is enough; for other games, enter the address with the port shown.
Server IP tab, Subdomain block: enter the name, then Create.
Give the address shown to your players (with the port if the client area shows one).
To change it: Delete / change address, then recreate it. 5 creations max per 24h.
An offensive name leads to the subdomain being removed immediately.
How do I upgrade to a higher plan?
Client area, service page, Subscription tab, My plan section. You pay the monthly price difference for each month already started until renewal (half if less than 15 days remain); your files are kept.
Settle any pending renewal invoice first (otherwise the upgrade is blocked).
Subscription tab, My plan section: pick the plan, Upgrade, then pay.
Restart the server to use the new resources.
Is my server protected against DDoS attacks?
Yes, protection is active on every server. The DDoS protection tab on the service page shows the history of detected attacks.
Client areaMy Servicesyour serverDDoS protection, Sync my server the first time.
Check ongoing and past attacks (type, ports, peak).
If the server stays unreachable during an attack, open a ticket with the time.

How do I access my server's files over SFTP?
Install FileZilla Client, then create a site with the SFTP protocol, the host and port shown in the GamePanel (System menu, SFTP Details), your SFTP username and your GamePanel password. Handy for large transfers (worlds, modpacks). Works the same for every game.
Before you start
FileZilla Client, free to download from filezilla-project.org (get "FileZilla Client", not "FileZilla Server", and decline any extra software offered during setup). WinSCP works just as well on Windows, with the same details.
In the GamePanel, open your server, menu GamePanelSystemSFTP Details. Note the "CONNECTION ADDRESS": what follows
sftp://is the host (e.g.game05.helloserv.fr), the number after:is the port (e.g.2022). Also note the full "USERNAME", including the part after the dot (e.g.[email protected]). The password is your GamePanel one.In FileZilla, File menu, "Site Manager", then "New site". On the "General" tab, choose Protocol "SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol", fill in "Host" and "Port", keep Logon Type "Normal", then fill in "User" and "Password". Click "Connect".
On first connection, FileZilla shows "Unknown host key": that's normal. Tick "Always trust this host, add this key to the cache", then "OK".
Once connected, "Local site" on the left shows your computer, "Remote site" on the right shows your server. Stop the server from the Console before replacing a world, then drag your files or folders from left to right. The transfer shows up at the bottom, in "Queued files". To get a file back, drag it from right to left.
Restart the server from the Console once the transfer is done.
Common errors
- FTP or FTPS instead of SFTP: the connection fails. Make sure you pick "SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol".
- Port 21 or the game's own port (the one in the game's connection address): use the port from the SFTP Details page (usually 2022).
- "Authentication failed": the password is your GamePanel one, not your client area one. Also check that the username is copied in full, including the part after the dot. Forgotten password: see GamePanel Password.
- Timed out or connection refused: check the host (without
sftp://in front) and the port, then try again. If it keeps happening, open a ticket.
For a few files, the GamePanel's File Manager is enough (Upload button).
How do I back up and restore my server?
Backups run through the paid Backups add-on: an automatic backup every day, and one-click restore from the GamePanel. Add it from the service page, Add-ons tab (price shown there). Without it, backups are up to you: download your folders to your PC regularly, via the File Manager or over SFTP.
Before you start
The Backups add-on active on the service (for the steps below).
Client areaMy Servicesyour serverAdd-ons, Backups, Add (prorated invoice).
GamePanelManagementBackupsCreate: make one before any update or mod change.
To roll back, Restore the backup you want.
Common errors
- Restoring replaces the current files and restarts the server: anything done since the backup is lost.
- Backup storage is 50% of the plan's storage: delete old ones, or lock the ones you want to keep.
How do I add an extra port?
An extra port (voice plugin, web map, RCON) can be requested yourself on the service page, Server IP tab. It arrives within a few minutes, 2 secondary ports max per server.
Client area, service page, Server IP tab, Secondary ports section.
Click Request a port (one request at a time).
A few minutes later, click Sync: the port shows up.
Enter this number in the plugin's or mod's config, then restart the server.
Common errors
- The plugin still listens on its default port: you need to replace that port with the one assigned.
- Sync is limited to 3 times per 5 minutes: wait a bit between tries.
Troubleshooting 1
My server stops (code 137) or lags: how do I reduce memory usage?
"Exit code: 137" or "Out of Memory: true" in the console means the server used more than your plan's RAM and was stopped automatically. It's not a fault: cut memory usage in the order below, for any game; a higher plan is only a last resort.
In the GamePanel, check the memory graph right before the stop or during the lag: if it hits the maximum, RAM is indeed the cause.
Remove the last mod, plugin or add-on you added and restart, then add them back one by one: sometimes just one is enough to overflow everything.
Lighten the game's settings: max players, view distance, number of entities or creatures, map size.
Pre-generate the map when the game allows it (Minecraft: Chunky plugin): exploring new areas causes the biggest spikes.
Minecraft Java: client area, service page, Details tab, Startup command block. Choose Optimized (Aikar flags) for Paper, Spigot or Purpur, or Modpack for Forge, NeoForge or Fabric, click Apply then Restart now. These commands leave a memory margin outside Java, which avoids most 137 codes; Back to the original command undoes the change.
As a last resort, if memory still stays full: move to a plan with more RAM (Overview tab, My plan section). You pay the prorated difference and your files are kept.
Common errors
- Reinstalling the server changes nothing: usage stays the same.
- Putting all of the plan's RAM into -Xmx (Minecraft) actually causes code 137: Java needs headroom on top of its heap.
- 137 stops while displayed memory stays far from the max: open a ticket stating the game, version and mods, we'll take a look.
