How do I set my own Cfx.re license key?

Your server starts with a shared key provided by HelloServ, which Cfx.re may throttle: set your own. It's free, created on portal.cfx.re, tied to your server's IP address, and pasted into GamePanel, Server Options, the "Clé de licence Cfx.re" (Cfx.re license key) field.

  1. Cfx.re account: go to portal.cfx.re and log in. If you don't have an account, click Sign Up: it's the same account as the Cfx.re forum (and FiveM).

  2. In the portal, open Server Keys (direct address: portal.cfx.re/servers/registration-keys) and create a new key.

  3. Fill in the form. Name: anything. IP address: the one shown on the service page in the client area, without the port (for example 203.0.113.10, not 203.0.113.10:30120). Server type: choose a server hosted with a provider (VPS or dedicated), not a home server.

  4. Copy the generated key. GamePanelyour serverServer Options: paste it into "Clé de licence Cfx.re", replacing the existing value.

  5. Restart the server, then check the console: no license error should appear.

Common errors

  • License error or server rejected by Cfx.re: the key is tied to another IP (previous host, IP entered with the port, typo). Create a new key with the exact IP from the service page.
  • The key worked and then the server stops starting: it was deleted or regenerated in the portal. Check it's still listed under Server Keys, otherwise create one and paste it again.
  • The server doesn't start at all: check the key is pasted in full, with no space before or after. Don't put it in server.cfg: the GamePanel rewrites the Server Options one there on every start.
  • Never share your key, not in a public ticket or on Discord: it's tied to your server.
Backups, subdomain, SFTP and ports

These topics are common to every game: see the GamePanel fiche. For SFTP, follow the step-by-step FileZilla guide.

  1. Help centre home, GamePanel fiche (all games).

How do I manage the server with txAdmin?

txAdmin is RedM's web management interface: installing a framework (VORP, RSG), players, restarts. On first launch, it waits for you to configure it: the game only starts afterwards.

  1. GamePanelServer Options: set "Activer txAdmin" (Enable txAdmin) to 1 and note the "Port txAdmin" (txAdmin port) number.

  2. Start the server. The console shows the txAdmin address and a 4-digit PIN code.

  3. Open http://IP:port_txAdmin in your browser, enter the PIN, then link your Cfx.re account.

  4. Set your admin password, then follow the wizard: it installs VORP, RSG or an empty server.

  5. For the database the wizard asks for, see Connecting a MySQL database.

Common errors

  • Status stays on "Démarrage" (Starting) and no one can connect: txAdmin is waiting to be configured. Do steps 3 and 4.
  • serverProfile or txAdminPort "deprecated" warnings in the console: harmless.
  • To manage the server without txAdmin, set "Activer txAdmin" to 0 and restart.
How do I update RedM (artifacts)?

The server version is chosen in GamePanel, Server Options, "Version de RedM (artifact)" (RedM version/artifact). Leave it on recommended unless you have a specific need. It's installed by reinstalling from the Advanced, Avancé menu (Server Actions).

  1. GamePanel, Server Options: set "Version de RedM (artifact)" to recommended, latest or a specific build number. An invalid number is replaced with recommended.

  2. Stop the server, then GamePanelAdvancedServer Actions: run the reinstall. Your server.cfg and resources are kept.

  3. Start the server and check the console: the version shows at launch.

Common errors

  • Players see "failed to fetch info from server": the server is older than their game. Set recommended or latest, then redo step 2.
  • Don't delete the alpine folder: it's the server's engine. If deleted by mistake, step 2 brings it back.
How do I add a resource (script)?

A resource is a folder: upload it into resources, then add an ensure folder_name line to server.cfg.

  1. Upload the resource's folder into resources (File Manager or SFTP).

  2. In server.cfg, add ensure folder_name after the resources it depends on.

  3. Restart, or type refresh then ensure folder_name in the console.

Common errors

  • VORP or RSG resource: it must come after the framework's core (vorp_core, rsg-core) in server.cfg.
  • A resource written for FiveM doesn't work on RedM: use the RedM version.
How do I connect a MySQL database to my RedM server?

Create the database in the GamePanel (Databases), then fill in the set mysql_connection_string line already prepared in server.cfg. With txAdmin, the deployment wizard (VORP, RSG) fills this in for you.

Before you start

The oxmysql resource in resources. The VORP and RSG frameworks include it.

  1. GamePanelyour serverManagementDatabasesCreate: choose a host, give it a name (e.g. redm), leave % in "Connections From", then "Submit".

  2. In the list, note the database name, the username, the password (click it to reveal it) and the "Connection" column: the address before : is the host, the number after is the port.

  3. File Manager, server.cfg: remove the # before the set mysql_connection_string line and replace the values: set mysql_connection_string "host=HOST;port=PORT;user=USER;password=PASSWORD;database=DATABASE_NAME". Place ensure oxmysql before the resources that use the database.

  4. With txAdmin: at the wizard's database step, enter this same host, port, username, password and database name.

  5. Restart and check the console: oxmysql reports the connection is established. To import a .sql file: the database's "PHPMyAdmin" button, Import tab.

Common errors

  • "Access denied": almost always a mistyped password. Copy it again from the list (step 2), with no space before or after.
  • Other connection failures: see the FiveM fiche, the causes are the same.

Troubleshooting 2

My RedM server doesn't start or stays invisible

In almost every case, a required line is missing from server.cfg. Check the console at startup: the first error points to which one.

  1. Console: note the first line shown in red or yellow.

  2. File Manager, server.cfg: check these lines are present, and add any that are missing: endpoint_add_tcp "0.0.0.0:30120", endpoint_add_udp "0.0.0.0:30120", set gamename rdr3, ensure sessionmanager-rdr3, ensure redm-map-one.

  3. Leave port 30120 in the endpoint lines: on startup, the GamePanel replaces it with your server's port. It also rewrites the name, player count and license key.

  4. Restart and check the console again.

Common errors

  • An IP:0/info.json address in the errors: the endpoint lines are missing. Add them back (step 2).
  • ensure fivem in server.cfg: that's a FiveM resource, remove the line.
  • Status stays on "Démarrage" (Starting) with txAdmin enabled: see txAdmin.
  • A resource crashes on launch: remove its ensure, restart, then add it back to test it alone.
  • Still stuck: open a ticket with the last 30 lines of the console.
How do I find my server in the game?

The RedM server list can take a while to show a new server. The simplest way is a direct connection: F8 in RedM, then connect IP:port.

  1. Check in the console that the server has started, with no license error.

  2. RedM, F8, connect IP:port. The address and port are the ones from the service page: it isn't necessarily 30120.

  3. For the list: the displayed name is set in Server Options, "Nom du serveur" (Server name).
