How do I connect to my Bedrock server?

In Minecraft Bedrock, Servers tab, Add Server: enter the address and port shown on the service page (or your subdomain and its port).

  1. Client area, your server: copy the address and port.

  2. Minecraft, Play, Servers, Add Server.

  3. Server Address and Port: paste them in separately, then Save.

  4. "You are not invited to this server" message: the allowlist is on, see how to open it.

I can't connect to my Bedrock server: "not invited"?

Since October 2, 2026, new Bedrock servers are created without an allowlist (allow-list=false): anyone can join. A server created between September 24 and October 2, 2026 may still have it on (allow-list=true): only registered players can join, others see "You are not invited to this server". Add your players, or turn the allowlist off.

  1. Option A, keep the allowlist: in the GamePanel console, type allowlist add <gamertag> for each player (Xbox gamertag, in quotes if it contains a space: allowlist add "My Nickname"). allowlist list shows the list, allowlist remove <gamertag> removes a player.

  2. Option B, open the server to everyone: stop the server, File Manager, server.properties, change allow-list=true to allow-list=false, save, restart.

  3. Become an operator: once connected to the server (step 1 or 2 done), type op <gamertag> in the console. deop <gamertag> removes the role.

  4. The operator role is stored in permissions.json (values operator, member, visitor). If you edit this file by hand, type permission reload in the console.

Can Java players join my Bedrock server?

No, not directly. Crossplay works the other way: a Java server (Paper) with the Geyser plugin also welcomes Bedrock players, on a secondary port you add yourself.

  1. See the Minecraft Java fiche, question on extra ports.

Backups, subdomain, SFTP and upgrade

These topics are common to every game: see the GamePanel fiche. For SFTP, follow the step-by-step FileZilla walkthrough.

  1. Help center home, GamePanel fiche (all games).

How do I update my Bedrock server?

Restart the server: it updates itself. On every start, it checks the latest official Bedrock version and installs it if needed. Your worlds, server.properties, the allowlist, permissions and packs are kept. This works with the default settings: "Mise à jour automatique" (Auto update) at 1 and "Version Bedrock" (Bedrock version) at latest.

  1. Auto update: GamePanel, Server Options. Check "Mise à jour automatique" (Auto update) (1) and "Version Bedrock" (Bedrock version) (latest), then restart the server.

  2. Check the version: in the console, on startup, the [MAJ auto] line says whether the server was already up to date or has just been updated. The Version: line gives the installed version.

  3. Stay on a specific version: first make a backup (GamePanel, Management, Backups, or download the worlds folder). In Server Options, "Version Bedrock" (Bedrock version), enter the number you want (for example 1.21.111.1). Auto update no longer applies.

  4. Install this version: reinstall the server (Advanced menu, Server Actions), then start it. Your worlds, server.properties, permissions.json and allowlist.json are kept. To go back to automatic updates, set it back to latest and restart.

Common errors

  • "Outdated server" for players: their game received an update. Restart the server. If nothing changes, check the settings from step 1.
  • [MAJ auto] shows "Mise à jour échouée" or "Dernière version introuvable" in the console: the server starts anyway, with the version already installed. Restart a bit later.
  • A version number that doesn't exist makes the install fail: copy it exactly as it appears on minecraft.net.
How do I turn on the Beta APIs?

Many script add-ons require the "Beta APIs" experiment. On a server, it's stored in the world (level.dat): the Mod Manager (Advanced menu, Server Actions) turns it on for you, server stopped, with a backup of the file each time. On startup, the Experiment(s) active: gtst line in the console confirms it's active.

  1. Start the server once so the world exists, then stop it. It must stay stopped during the install: the game rewrites level.dat when stopping, and the change would be lost.

  2. Advanced menu, Mod Manager: install "Beta APIs (API bêta)". The message shows the world that was changed and the name of the backup.

  3. Start the server. In the console, look for the Experiment(s) active: gtst line: the Beta APIs are active.

  4. On the Minecraft side, the "Beta APIs" option can still show as off: that's normal, only the console line counts. Then install your add-ons (see how).

Common errors

  • No gtst line on startup: the mod was likely installed with the server running. Stop the server, uninstall the mod, reinstall it, start it, then check the console.
  • requesting dependency on beta APIs […] but the Beta APIs experiment is not enabled in the console: an add-on needs the Beta APIs, follow the steps above.

To roll back: uninstall the mod (server stopped), or restore the level.dat.avant-mod-… backup from the worlds/<world> folder.

How do I install addons or resource packs?

A Bedrock add-on usually has two packs: a behavior pack (BP, the gameplay) and a resource pack (RP, the textures). Upload each to its own folder, then declare them in your world with the uuid and version from their manifest.json. Step-by-step example with the free Bedrock Essentials+ add-on (tools, whole-tree chopping, vein mining), tested on Bedrock 1.26.52.

Before you start

The Beta APIs only if the add-on's author requires them (Bedrock Essentials+ doesn't need them): see how to turn them on.

  1. Download the add-on from https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft-bedrock/addons/bedrock-essentials (Files tab). You get Bedrock Essentials+ 1.8.3.mcaddon.

  2. Rename it to .zip and unzip it on your computer. You get two folders: Bedrock Essentials+ BP (with manifest.json, scripts, items, recipes) and Bedrock Essentials+ RP (with manifest.json, textures).

  3. Stop the server. GamePanelFile Manager (or SFTP): upload the BP to behavior_packs/BedrockEssentials_BP and the RP to resource_packs/BedrockEssentials_RP. The manifest.json must sit directly in these folders.

  4. Open each pack's manifest.json and note the uuid and version from the header block (not the ones in modules). For this add-on: BP 5f808eda-2eed-47b9-94ca-8486af1c5c14, RP 537af6fe-a865-4603-8847-37791b81249d, version [1, 8, 3] for both (highlighted lines below).

  5. In worlds/<your world> (the name is in level-name from server.properties), create or edit world_behavior_packs.json. Several add-ons: one entry per pack, separated by commas, inside the same brackets (tabs 2 and 3: example with Simple Waystone and True Veinminer, uuids taken from their manifest.json).

    world_behavior_packs.json
    [ { "pack_id": "5f808eda-2eed-47b9-94ca-8486af1c5c14", "version": [1, 8, 3] }]
  6. Same place, world_resource_packs.json, same idea with the RP uuids.

    world_resource_packs.json
    [ { "pack_id": "537af6fe-a865-4603-8847-37791b81249d", "version": [1, 8, 3] }]
  7. Check the commas before saving: one between each } and the next {, none after the last entry. A single one out of place and the file is no longer valid JSON.

  8. Optional: to force players to download the textures, set texturepack-required=true in server.properties.

  9. Start the server. In the console, the line Pack Stack - [00] Bedrock Essentials+ BP (id: 5f808eda-…, version: 1.8.3) confirms it loaded. Players get the resource pack when they connect.

Common errors

  • Configured pack (id: …) was not found and was ignored: uuid copied wrong (taken from modules instead of header), a version higher than the one in manifest.json, or the pack nested too deep (behavior_packs/X/Y/Z/manifest.json).
  • Pack Stack - None: world_behavior_packs.json missing, misplaced (not in the loaded world's folder) or invalid JSON (missing comma or bracket).
  • requesting dependency on beta APIs […] but the Beta APIs experiment is not enabled: the add-on needs the Beta APIs, turn them on.
  • requested invalid version [...] of [@minecraft/server]: the add-on isn't built for this Bedrock version. Get the add-on version that matches, from its download page.
  • Textures don't show up: the RP isn't declared in world_resource_packs.json, or the player declined the pack (see step 8).

How do I edit server.properties and manage operators?

Server name, game mode, difficulty, cheats and world are set in GamePanel, Server Options. These lines of server.properties are rewritten on every start: editing them in the file doesn't stick. The rest of server.properties (max players, view distance…) is edited in the file. To become operator, type op <gamertag> in the console.

  1. GamePanel, Server Options: "Nom du serveur" (Hostname), "Mode de jeu" (Gamemode), "Difficulté" (Difficulty), "Autoriser la triche" (Allow cheats), "Monde à charger" (World to load). Restart.

  2. Other settings: stop the server, File Manager, server.properties, save, start. Example: going from 10 to 20 max players.

  3. GamePanel console: op <gamertag> (the player must be connected).

  4. Allowlist: allow-list=true in server.properties, then allowlist add <gamertag> (details).
